First of all i would like to start off by saying i am not a person who can not take horror and psychological animes in great amounts. In fact i am completely scared of them - i am a person who dwells too much on basically everything and though i try not to but take a lot of things to the heart. Thus far i have only been able to watch Ghost Hunt and Shiki from these themes - the first not one of your extremely scary ones but scared me nonetheless, and the second which i couldn't sleep properly for 3 months. Of course i also reconmmend these two for you horror/psychological fans!

Recently i have begun watching newly airing anime on one basis only - if it has a plot i find extrememly interesting i will give it a try no matter the genre. Another drew me in completely, i have been dying to give it a try. However, to tell the truth i am much too scared to actually begin watching it, thus i don't know if i should be writing this or not. But what i wish to achieve is to encourage those who are also easily scared by these themes to actually give Another a try. After watching roughly 5 minutes of the first episode, many short snapshots from fan reviews and after reading the novel online in one day (or what was uploaded of it), i feel i can try put forward my point of view of Another.

The animation as stated before is absolutely amazing - i can say actually on par with Kuroshitsuji. Dialogue and music superb. Everything constitutes towards a perfect horror story. And what i realised after reading the novel - which the anime follows closely thus far - is that it is indeed pure horror with a couple of big twists which make it so interesting. It is not an anime that completely messes with your mind per say, but allows you to think with the characters stuck in this predicament that has lasted 26 years. I find that because the plot is extrememly dark and interesting it has drawn me away from the actual horror - the blood and gore - to enjoy the story as a whole. Originally i thought the plot was following this path: with the episode names named "rough sketch", "blueprints", "bone work", "put flesh", "build limbs" along with the deaths occurring on a monthly basis in the 3-3 class - if you follow my gist you would think the main 'antagonist' Mei was trying to build something or rather someone.

BUT! This assumption is actually way off track from what is actually going to happen. A seemingly innocent class - class 3-3 - along with the school teachers are found to harbour a practice which is mindblowing and hard to understand. But nothing can really be assumed since so little has been revealed by the 3-3 class and Mei. And i understand it may deter off the 'manga' plot and follow it's own one, adding to the fact that nothing can be assumed as of yet.

To finish off this is as stated before by other members HIGHLY recommended for horror fans and i would definitely recommend it to non-horror fans, even people who feel extrememly squirmish about scary things should give Another a try possibly in the near future. It is an anime where, if you wish to build up your brain to conquer even more fearful yet beautiful animes i suggest Another ia definitely a place to start. I feel one day in the near future i will be able to watch this anime too with everyone here, truely enjoy it and not dwell too much on it afterwards that would make me go crazy. But i hope Another will continue to draw in more fans, possibly ones similar to me and happy watching everyone!
