This anime is purely about girls, intended for girls. In plain terms, I would go as far as to say it's a lesbian-love story. The only real "complaint" I have about it, is the ending. Nothing is really resolved, so to speak. Still, it does manage to capture everyone's feelings, but it just ... ends? More closure couldn't have hurt, but I suppose it wasn't too bad either.
Other than the ending, it is worth mentioning that some may find it TOO romantic/dramatic etc. In many ways, I couldn't help but wonder if this anime/story was based on true events, as the story and the characters/interactions are all very realistic. Almost TOO realistic. That realism, however, is what really got me attached to this anime. It's a story about love, albeit girls only. The troubles they face, and so on. If you want to watch a love story - this is a good one to consider.
When it comes down to the art style, I personally enjoyed it. It literally looks like a painting. A work of art, itself. (As art is a large aspect of the story.) Dialogue and animation are decent as well. No complaint there.
