Azumanga Daioh is about high school life through the eyes of six girls with unusual personalities: Chiyo (the 10-year-old genius), Osaka (the resident airhead), Sakaki (the shy one prone to cat bites), Tomo (the loose cannon), Yomi (the short-tempered one) and Kagura (the resident jock).

Azumanga Daioh is awesome, especially for such a simple slice-of-life show. The characters and their daily life hi jinx are infinitely amusing, yet still realistic, making them all the more sympathetic and love able. It is a wonderful comedy that makes me laugh out loud and have a grinning face and feel good sense for hours after watching it. I would recommend this series to _anyone_, all ages, genders, even people who don't like anime or hate slice of life or comedy. While it has no real plot, and is largely episodic following the life of a bunch of Jr. High girls and a few of their teachers, the dialog and jokes are excellent, and the characters actions and thoughts infinitely amusing, with stellar and well developed characterizations and humor without relying on cliche and sex appeal and crazy visuals like so many others are forced to trying to attract viewers, or having serious and depressing moments. This is a show to watch if you're looking for a good time just being happy and loving life and a few laughs.
