To me and it pains me to say it, but Bleach has really gone downhill since the end of the Soul Society arc back on episode 60 something. But this is about the movie so i decided to give it a watch without thinking anything about the regular anime.
So story wise it seemed to be heading in a good direction. People from hell want to use Ichigo's powers to break out of hell so the lure him there in order to provoke him. Now right from the start the problem is you already can figure who will be the main villain (i won't give it away but don't be fooled is all i will say).
Let move to dialogue which of course was normal bleach. Talk to much during fights at times, talk to much on topics that don't matter, and slightly bore you until the next action scene. Wasn't anything in this that jumps out at you to remember besides the very end which only did so cause provide a decent laugh i guess.
Now animation I gave it an excellent mainly for the fact that this was the best part of the movie. The fights looked really well polished and beautiful at times. And of course the crazed Ichigo looked really awesome, though that stupid final form at the end looked ridiculous. Of course it is more what you expect from bleach action parts, but this just felt more well polished than any of the typical anime fights.
Entertainment wise it is again what to be expected. The only problem that holds it back from be excellent entertainment is that if you have seen the anime no matter if you try to put all the stupid quick powerups and the boring moments in it away in your head to watch this movie, they all crept back out cause you end up saying "oh come on that is just too stupid."
Overall it is a decent movie for bleach fans, but this movie won't win over anyone who is on the ledge or just doesn't like the series.
