Summary: Throughout the passage of time and the shifts in backgrounds, a particular war continues to leave its mark on history, extending its influence into the modern world. There are two major groups involved in the ensuring war. The first group consists of monsters known as Chiropterans who can change their appearances into that of human beings. They are actually immortals who feed on the blood of the living. The second group is an organisation known as the "Red Shield", formed to track down these monsters and exterminate them. Otonashi Saya is a high-school girl who lives a peaceful life with her family. The only problem is, she has no recollections of her life beyond that of the past year. However, her happy life will be destroyed by an event that will lead her to her destined fate.

Starts off boring

I liked this anime alot for the story but I couldn't get into for a while. The first few episodes were really boring for me. Lots of talk and mysterious past stories that don't make any sense until almost the end of the show. If you can get through the first maybe 5 or 6 eps then things being to pick up. Being this is supposed to be connected to the Blood the Last Vampire movie it has its connections but is very different overall. The charaters were hit or miss. you have the bad guys which were pretty good but some of the good guys lacked any real emotion. About half way through the show all the good just about all the good guys are on this "emo" trip. The dialoue is ok at best because most of the time you can guess what the person is going to say. Overall its good but surely not the best.
