Summary:
The series follows the exploits of Saeba Ryou, who works as a "sweeper" — sweeping crime off the streets — and Makimura Kaori, a tomboyish girl who deals primarily with the business side of things, and has a crush on Ryou, though is reluctant to admit it. The clandestine City Hunter team is available for hire for missions like protection and private investigation. And Ryou has made it his policy to primarily take on jobs involving beautiful women. These contact the team by writing the letters XYZ on a blackboard at Shinjuku station.

I caught a few random episodes of this anime on TV and even dubbed in French it was pretty entertaining. Dubs usually put me off, but somehow it worked with this one.
The characters are likable and the 80s animation is quite good. The main character is funny, though sometimes a bit annoying; every time he sees a pretty girl he either gets a nose bleed or makes a funny face or something of the sort, but he is always punished by his female side-kick who hits him on the head with a giant mallet. It sounds pretty silly and stereotypical, but this series really has its charms. The main character is cool and collected (when there are no females around) and always catches the bad guy. I'm definitely going to give it a chance. I'm really looking forward to watching it in the original Japanese from beginning to end. *runs to start downloading*
