What's with the subtitle? Gemini? I always thought the Darker than Black series was complicated unless I watched it a couple of times. This is the second season of Darker than Black and most likely the last installment because the production studios had not announced for any sort of continuation. I would love a season three but if they decide to end it at season two, I'm fine with that. I preferred the first season than the second season because the second season didn't have as much surprises in store. In season one, you don't know much about contractors so things are very new to you. In season two, there's a lot of dialogue going between CIA and whatever headquarters there are in capturing Izanami whose powers we aren't too sure of in the beginning.
This story follows Suo Palivchenko living in Russia when her father suddenly dies and she is being chased. Her twin brother, Shion, (oh so that's why it's called Gemini of the Meteor) disappears but relays directions to help her escape. Unsure of what's going on, she can listen to Shion's words. Along the way, Suo's path intertwines with Hei who now looks like a bum for getting extremely depressed over Yin. Don't worry, he cleans up afterward. The end of the story is questionable because Hei's status is relatively unknown, dead or alive, missing, or whatever. It's kind of a happy ending though a lot of deaths occurred like in season one and in the OVAs. Yin's condition is also questionable because I'm not too sure if her conscious is lost or if Izanami has fully taken control.
Not as good as season one but still a great piece of fiction. What I didn't like was when they played the animation over and over again for Suo's transformation into a contractor. It was cliched and I wish they only played it once or at least change it each time. I kinda liked the soundtrack in this one though I missed the jazz it had in season one. For Darker than Black fans, you may be disappointed by the long dialogue but as a whole I think it tied well.
