I liked this one better than the anime series since this focused on my favorite character, Archer. I like the way he does things. He showed the flaw on such ideals. He's a realist rather than idealist but he embodies his ideals perfectly that he does it realistically. Though one should expect...no...even most adults can never achieve such maturity...
Although I doubt that one could fully appreciate this one without watching the anime series. The series focused on Saber's ideals which was briefly referred during the fight. One would not understand this retort if the series was not watched so I would suggest please watch the series first before the movie. Plus, there would be an added surprise you would not expect. This movie is more on revelations on the places that the series was not able to touch, which are both the principles and the character development.
P.S. Lancer...I wonder...oh..I wonder if he is going to be the hero from the present character of someone in the series...as one could see the attachment to someone else.....I wonder...
