Summary: |
Set in a slightly futuristic world where Earth has been invaded and is at war with aliens from another dimension called the Nova, the story follows the adventures of a Japanese boy named Kazuya Aoi who enrolls for training at a special school for genetically modified girls called Pandoras who battle the aliens, and their male partners, called Limiters, who use a special power called "freezing" to limit their opponent's mobility. The protagonist makes the acquaintance of an unusual older girl named Bridgette L. Satellizer who appears to be the most powerful Pandora in her class, but has not yet chosen a male partner to be her Limiter, and in spite of the warnings of all his friends, he decides to be her Limiter. |

One of the first things when watching a new anime and judging whether or not its "view-worthy", is the intro song and whether or not its worth listening a few dozen times in conjunction of watching the anime itself. I was pleasantly surprised by both the OP and Ending were very attractive to listen too.
Getting on with the actual review of the Anime Freezing, I believe that it separates itself from other animes through its assortment of characters and their subtle differences from other shows. As important as first impressions are, much of the joy from character development is finding out why they are that way in the first place. Each character introduced in each new episode seems to have their own personal back story which adds on to the war torn setting of Freezing gathering more intrigue from the viewers.
It's pretty hard to avoid not using ecchi scenes in anime's targeted to young men, especially when in truth its pretty effective. In saying that, i don't think that Freezing is overly ecchi (compared shows like Ikki Tousen and Kanokon) and it should just be considered as an extra for Freezing, which does have a interesting Storyline.
My final thoughts on this show, is that its still early to judge which direction this anime will take, but i believe if it keeps developing its characters and storyline with its strong backstory, it will become very memorable and have a solid fanbase.
(SPOILER (I think))
the male protagonist doesn't stay useless forever >.< watch episode 3 onwards!!
