Goro Miyazaki Does It Again

First... this was directed by GORO Miyazaki, not Hayao Miyazaki; Hayao did share the screenplay with Keiko Niwa for this production and I'm sure he did more, but it was Goro's project.

Now on to the review for the US hopefuls to watch it March 29, 2013: This movie had a slower story than the recent Arrietty movie, but still very enjoyable. I don't want to give too much away, but please stick with the story till the end; it gets a little confusing in the middle with back story, but once the plot is revealed then it's all down hill from there and the last 20 minutes or so are "wrapping up" the story line.

Once again, the animation is beautiful and there are parts where the vivid colors really pop out from the dull setting, but I was alright with it cause the story called for it. The characters are pretty average, but because of the story, and how well the emotions were expressed in the dialogue, I think that really helped to keep my attention with the movie. The music was different from the usual Joe Hisaishi, but I really enjoyed Satoshi Takebe's use of instrumentals. Lazy theme for a lazy town... just wonderful. :) I can't wait for the BluRay release to add to my current Studio Ghibli collection :)
