The ancient kingdom of Parro has been invaded by the armies of Mongaul, and its king and queen have been slain. But the "twin pearls of Parro," the princess Rinda and the prince Remus, escape using a strange device hidden in the palace. Lost in the Forest of Rood, they are rescued from Mongaul soldiers by a strange leopard-headed man named Guin, who has no memories except for the word "Aurra."
First episode is slow but once you get past the first episode the story unfolds in a steady pace with no fillers.
Each character is full of depth and adds to the story. This anime is like watching a novel. As the plot unfolds you gain more insight into each character. At first glance the characters might seem very static but with each plot twist the characters become more dynamic and integrated into each other.
If you love reading fantasy novels, you have to watch this anime. The anime is too short due to the fact that it only goes through the first novel. There are several sequels to the novel but the anime is based on only the first novel which leaves the viewer only dying for more.
