"Hanbun no Tsuki ga Noboru Sora" has a beautiful story. Not in a way that it's original or surprising but rather that it's really touching. I started watching this because an other reviewer had the same taste as me. It wasn't what I expected but I was pleasantly surprised.
The story isn't that original because it's a medical situation but that's only the surface. Deeper down it's filled with all kinds of emotions that make it worth watching. It can be sad, joyful and at occasions funny.
The dialogue is good. It leaves some things to the viewer's imagination and I especially liked the references to some books even though I haven't read any of them.
At first I was kind of bothered by the animation. It seemed pretty old. But after seeing how some emotions and situations were displayed I forgot about this flaw.
It's hard to explain why I liked "Hanbun no Tsuki ga Noboru Sora" but the interactions between the two main characters were fun to watch. It reminded me a bit of Clannad but probably only because that's the only other drama anime I've watched so far.
