Summary: |
Infinite Stratos (IS), a weaponized exoskeleton system, has become the dominant tool of warfare and conflict. Unfortunately for the men in society, only women are able to operate Infinite Stratos... with very few exceptions. One of those exceptions is ORIMURA Ichika, an orphan raised by his older sister who is herself a famous IS pilot. When his compatibility with IS is discovered after he accidentally touches an IS at the age of 15, he's given a scholarship and enrolled in a school that specializes in training IS pilots. Which of course means an... intersting life surrounded by girls for this shy, unassuming boy. |

I'm finding it hard to review the show, I personally enjoy it; I think the character accurately portrays that he is out of his depth just a little, but not enough to drown him and that is slowly learning to swim as it were. The harem romance is one of the major sub-plots at the moment (at the time of writing this, we're only five episodes in), but the big main plot line is already being brought in.
There is a touch of ecchi to it, but name a single show (ages teen & up) on television that doesn't, be it animation or real actors. In I.S. the fact that 8 of the characters are girls isn't overblown, it is more of a "yes they are girls, and yes they have breasts, but we're not going to shove them into your face every five seconds just to remind you".
Infinite Stratos is more of a conglomeration of several ideas. Nothing in the show is entirely original, but what it brings to the fore is entertaining to me. I can understand how people dislike the show, claiming it to be a knock off or saying that it is just jumping band wagon of other great mecha shows, but to me personally, I.S. has reserved a place in my mind in it's own right, it is an interesting idea, and it is performed well.
In all, a highly enjoyable show so far, and I'm looking forward for more episodes to come. I recommend to anyone for them to watch!
