14 year-old Madoka Kaname has a dream in which a dark haired girl is struggling against an evil force. As Madoka wakes up and goes to school that morning, the very same girl, Homura Akemi, enrolls in her class. Even stranger, Homura seems to know Madoka and later confronts her in the hallway about whether she cares for her friends or not, saying she should stay how she is or else she risks losing everything. |

It's a very dark and twisted anime, comparable to that of higurashi no naka kori ni, mixed with Touhou and dash of hellsing.
The story starts with this girl having a dream about witches and witch hunters, it obviously turns out not to be a dream and she gets entangled with the with hunters, who all have one wish they are fighting for big and small twisted or innocent The only way to have their dreams solidified is to hunt witches and get their eggs but there is a limited amount of witch eggs and they end up fighting among themselves a lot of the time. The anime ends up being very enjoyable and really tears away from the norm.
The Animation in the witches 'realm' is very unique and doesn't resemble any "Anime" theme which makes it feel like you are really transported to a completely different genre of show.
