I think most of the reviewers are a bit spoiled on Gundam quality. Yeah its not ever gonna top 00, but I don't think they were trying to.... this seems more like a "lets take the drama easy this time around" sometimes it just gets boring trying to top everything all the time.
Also complaining about the age of the main char.... Uso Ebbing from Victory Gundam was younger (and that one wound up being one of the better Gundam series (with the highest body count)) Also as to the overall quality, people who complain about how kiddy and dumb this series is... Go watch the first half of Double Zeta.
Overall the series is young, and its set up for a long haul.... and two more generations of protagonists to come. Give it time and maybe it will get better, and maybe it wont. But just wait, maybe the next new Gundam will be back to the high drama
