They are neither plants nor animals. They differ from other forms of life such as the micro-organisms and the fungi. Instead they resemble the primeval body of life and are generally known as "Mushi". Their existence and appearance are unknown to many and only a limited number of humans are aware of them. Ginko is a "Mushi-shi" who travels around to investigate and find out more about the "Mushi". In the process, he also lends a helping hand to people who face problems with supernatural occurances which may be related to the "Mushi".

Story is very very unique, different than others.. talking about strange and bizarre supernatural things, revolve around a man going from place to place discovering and helping the locals. Pace of the story maybe slow but is done on purpose to give concentration on storytelling and some mysterious feel to it.
Dialogue is very focus on storytelling, with occasional mild sense of humor.
Animation is overall good, character is not very detail but nicely done with simple lines, the scenery is very good, perfect blend of details and shades of colour giving a supernatural and mysterious look.
Good entertaining anime, especially if you're looking for something different from the usual japanese-shonen fighting or love story-ecchies.. thumbs up.
