I will try to give you a concise honest opinion and if you want, you can take it as a review. I have not read the manga.

The stuff in parenthesis are thoughts about particular moments to infur what I'm talking about, might want to skip them if you aren't watching the anime yet.

Simply put, and if the rest is too much to read: Shippuuden is not as good as the original Naruto. That's really all that needs to be said, but at the same time, it's a completely different animal (jinchuriki, lol) than the original Naruto. Where everything was a challenge that was overcome by your favorite loveable ninja team in really creative ways, this series (so far; and we're in the 3/4 pt. of the Pain Arc atm) by comparison (and just in my own opinon) really takes what could be cool and just completely flops on the execution. They over explain everything. The filler is generally PURE crap (Although I thought the filler about the 8 tails was actually pretty good, but bubbles are stupid). The main part (especially now, finally) is pretty good but it's still the same old story mechanic where Naruto is the lonely shut out who has connections with villains (anti-heroes, more like) because he knows what it's like to be shunned.

My main problem is that I also feel that animation (maybe it's just the style... I don't know) but for the amount of money this show is making (I would hope), the wuality is not as good as I think I could expect. I must admit though, in this anime things take place on a larger scale than they ever did in the old show, and the story gets very serious, but it feels forced to me at times. There are parts that I am not crazy about (especially when everything is settled through that damn repetitive story mechanic). Characters just disappear from the story. They take forever to get anything across. It's like if Mad Men was an anime, which I like though, btw.

But... after saying all that, I still watch it and enjoy it, so I guess you just have to see for yourself.

Anyway, thanks for the podium.
