At a top music academy in Japan, Shinichi Chiaki's arrogance is matched only by his top-notch piano playing. But when Chiaki and the teacher get into a fight, he's demoted to the reject class. Chiaki is left to pursue his dream of being a conductor while surrounded by a bunch of loser musicians and one annoying girl, Noda, who has proclaimed herself Chiaki's girlfriend. It doesn't help that Noda, who insists on being called Nodame, lives right next door to him.

I was pleasantly surprised by this anime. It actually has quite a bit going for it and i found myself NOT getting bored waiting for the next progression in the story to arrive. Just about all of the characters are fun in their own unique way and there are very few that make it hard to watch. the animation does suffer quite a bit from alot of stills and holds but only because there are some beautiful scenes with top notch animation (you'll know right away when you see them). The best thing i found about this anime was the fact that it was about student musicians and orchastra's and while i dont have a huge interest or understanding of such things i still was able to enjoy the anime greatly. I highly recommend giving it a watch. It takes off pretty fast so you will know in the first few episodes whether you will like or hate.
