As we roll into the second season, Satoshi (Ash) learns that even though he’s got all eight badges necessary, the Pokémon league won’t open for another three months! Though he decides not to feel sorry for himself, and takes it as an opportunity to train. Together with his companions Iris and Dent (Cilan), they decide to explore the eastern parts of the Isshu (Unova) region which they haven’t been to yet. Waiting for them there is the encounters of many old friends, including Shirona (Cynthia) and Hikari (Dawn) of the Sinnoh region. Satoshi also learns of the Pokémon World Tournament Junior Cup, where the prize is to get to battle the Isshu champion Adeku (Alder)! What will the outcome of the Pokémon tournament be, and what happens when the mysterious Pokémon Meloetta decides to follow? |

I must admit that while the story telling may have improved greatly in comparison to the first season, the rapid changes in character does not sit well with the flow of the story. Also, they have a ten year old telling seven year old's that battling is all about heart. I'm sorry, but line's like that should only be delivered by an adult.
Characterisation issues aside, it has gone from 'Gotta Catch 'Em All' to 'Gotta Help 'Em All'. The first season promised a change back to the way that pokemon has always been intended to be, they have now gone and thrown that out the proverbial window.
