Summary: |
Due to poor grades, Tsukune Aono, an average high school student, has been unable to get accepted into any private academy of his choice. By exceptional accident, the only school to accept him turns out to be anything but ordinary; the school is attended by youkai disguised as humans. Fearing for his life, he attempts to escape only to meet Moka Akashiya, a beautiful girl who just happens to be a vampire. Despite this, Tsukune decides to stay at the academy, hiding his human nature from students and teachers. Tsukune also discovers that when the rosary around Moka's neck is removed, her true nature emerges. |

I watched through the whole first season, hoping for something interesting to happen, yet as I predicted I got disappointed in the end. Distantly based on Akihisa Ikeda's work, Rosario + Vampire tells the story of Tsukune Aono, a teenager who gets enrolled in a school designed for young monsters to attend, where they learn the basics of human society, so they can enter it once they graduate; yet; this is mentioned once at the very begging of the series and never again quoted as anything really important to the plot development. A much elaborated history that revolves on communication and understanding between two different races in the struggle to coexist was pretty much dumped. Instead, they tell us a cliché history about a teen dude with several chicks fawning over him, very deep, how did they figure out such a plot? Characters are very much stripped of their personalities in order to turn them plastic harem stereotypes without the capability of thinking outside from their usual lines.
Load of breasts, fondling, panty shots and other harem whatnot. No plot, no point, there’s a begging but as I heard not even the second season gets anywhere.
If you are looking for a plot: this is no your series. If you are looking for a comedy: got it wrong, too. Looking for a harem? Nice try *insert sarcasm*.
Want a harem worthy to watch? Watch Kannagi, Love Hina, Bakemonogatari, Tora Dora or Nyan Koi! Good plot, nicely elaborated characters, and they’ll make you go ROFLMAO.
This series is simply tasteless, follow my advice: if you wanna waste your time watching anime, please at the very least, not this one. Yet, if you are interested in reading the manga, I encourage you to do so, very interesting plot, characters do have an individual personality and the manga counts with intelligent and elaborated humor; a manga worthy being read.
