Summary:
Kōsei Arima was a piano prodigy until his mother died when he was eleven years old. The shock of losing her made him lose any interest in piano, and his life has felt monotonous ever since. Then, when he's fourteen, his childhood friend Tsubaki introduces him to her classmate Kaori, a free-spirited violinist. Her enthusiasm reignites his interest in music and in life.
It's a great anime, I must say. The feels was strong in this one, probably in the same category as AnoHana and such.
However, I must warn you the anime is pretty much filled with performances. I am a musician myself so I pretty much enjoyed the whole anime, but some might think the story is slow with all the music going on. Nevertheless, they used nice soundtracks for this series. Some of my favourites would be "Otouto Mitai na Sonzai" and "Again".
Rating wise, I think the animation is pretty good, though there are always flaws in every anime.
