Add an unique story paired with a mad protagonist to deep feelings and you get Steins;Gate.
I won't go long into the animation and idea behind this anime. Both aspects are extremely good. Especially the time travel idea has been thought out quite well. In my opinion it is refreshing that it isn't so much about the idea HOW you might do it, but more about the idea what time travel would have of an impact. Even better: Not just some impact, but the impact on YOU.
This is the core of my reason for watching this series. The characters felt genuine and thus one really feels with Kyouma and his friends. In addition the fact that the Protagonist is at least half mad makes a lot of extremely funny dialogues.
As in all my reviews I tend to mention even the bad things. Fortunately I can keep my list short. The most horrible thing are the first two to three episodes. i mean: For me they were really funny, but they are messed up and confusing as well. Just hang in there and you will be rewarded with a great anime.
