When a college dropout stops for a late night bite at a mysterious ramen stand, he crosses paths with a self-proclaimed deity of matrimony. This bizarre meeting sends the young man hurtling through a horrifying flashback to his not-so-glorious college days when the influence of a cruel new friend turned him from a hopeless romantic into a mischievous “black cupid.”

Tatami Galaxy takes the idea of "ridiculous" and twists it in a way that makes it appealing (to some people, at the very least). The animation is nothing especially beautiful, but it very much contributes to the personality of the anime. And the characters. You really get the feeling of, "Ahhh, this image fits this character so well!"
On the other hand, the story is brilliant. Though at first it may be hard to follow (or swallow), it definitely has a way of growing on you. Either that, or curiosity is gnawing at you and you just can't stop watching.
Though the only genre it is categorized under is "mystery," it's got "slice of life," and even a bit of "romance," although this aspect is more subtle. Consider picking it up!
