Shaoran and Sakura have grown up together in the Clow Kingdom since they were children and have formed a very close bond with each other. One night, Sakura is drawn to the ancient ruins that Shaoran is helping to excavate. He witnesses Sakura sprout wings and begin to disappear. Acting quickly, he stops her from disappearing, but witnesses her wings burst into feathers and disappear into the sky. Not knowing what to do, he is sent to the Dimensional witch who gives him, and two others, the power to travel to different worlds in order to retrieve Sakura's feathers. But in order for him to save her he must sacrifice the one thing he treasures most. |

After watching xxxHOLIC I read some reviews there and was directed here. What I like about this series is that it works in parallel with xxxHOLIC, as the characters there make minor appearances here. This series has a storyline as opposed to xxxHOLIC, more fantasy, and a better soundtrack. What I didn't like and can't figure out is why this season ended at episode 30, when it clearly says at the end of episode 30 that episode 31 is titled "A young man's determination."

If you can imagine Yuri on Ice! meets Holmes of Kyoto, then this is it. Slow paced but gripping. Boy-Love but not distasteful...
