The Familiar of Zero
Creator: Noboru Yamaguchi
Genres: Adventure, Comedy, Magic, Romance
Age Group: All Ages (Nothing objectionable)
Vintage: July 2, 2006
Status: Completed
Summary: Meet Louise, a budding magician. The students at the Tristein Academy call her "Zero Louise", due to her current record of zero successes with magic. In fact, her magic tends to go spectacularly wrong. Now, as an important test of her aptitude for magic, she must summon a familiar to be her servant. At this critical moment, she summons up all her magic and wishes for a familiar that is "devoted, beautiful and powerful", and gets... Hiraga Saito, an ordinary Japanese boy. It's difficult to say who is more surprised and dismayed, but the rules don't allow for second attempts. Louise is stuck with her strange familiar, and he with her.

Honestly, since I don't want to lie to you: I didn't like this one too much. If I were to give it a personal rating, it'd get two stars at most, but I'm trying to be objective and give you an image of what you're about to watch.
This anime is good for you if you're into cute comedies with a little ecchi and romance stuff. However, the plot is very, very random at times, all for the love of comedy, and especially in the middle of the anime it seems like each episode has a mini-plot but they just don't really connect. I didn't watch the two other seasons so I'm not sure about them though. The animation is okay, nothing special but it's been done artistically.
Also, the story seemed to me more like a history parody. Within all the magic and fantasy and parallel-world-thing, there's suddenly personalities from history (Oliver Cromwell....) I'm not into fantasy-history mixtures if the focus lies on the fantasy, so I didn't like this one, and I think if it doesn't change I'm going to quit watching the series. However, for you possible future watchers, read what I said above and decide on your own if you might like it.
