When I first read the blurb for this anime, I honestly didn't expect much. I figured it would be very difficult to get anything remotely resembling a plot out of this and it would just be some comedy like anime that would get boring after 5 episodes. I was completely and totally wrong. The plot of this anime is amazing. It is interesting and enthralling and full of surprises. It is really well developed and so enjoyable. This anime has an amazing range of characters that are all just brilliant. The use of these characters as rivals and friends add layers of depth to the story and the main characters. The actual manga the various authors within this anime come up with generally sound really interesting and I often found myself wishing someone might actually make them into real animes or manga. This anime is amusing and enjoyable and well worth the watch no matter if you like sports anime or battle animes or etc. It is a must see as far as I'm concernced. (show less)

conclusion: for once, an informative slice-of-life that doesn't border on boring! story is slow but flows well, even though it's faster in the manga (go read that one if you don't like slow storylines). characters are relatable and interesting, dialogue is easy to follow, and the animation's still pretty good. a simple one, but something that provides a deeper look into the anime/manga business and makes you appreciate mangaka and their effort even more! i prefer the manga (again) but this anime does a good job in following the manga, and can't be complained about.
