Mugen no juuin isn't just a good sword fighting anime, it have a deeper meaning than that. It indicates on meaningless revenge and that there is no good and bad people, there is only a good and a bad deeds and through the story characters confims that. So, there is a one antagonist Anotsu, but he is not all that bad. You will know him better and you will love him. Action and bloody gore scenes isn't best part of the anime. What I most liked are the plenty of enjoyable dialogues and very charismatic characters (Manji, Magatsu, Anotsu..) and one very beautiful musical theme.
Probably the anime is not very the best adaptation of the manga, and this is my biggest complaint. I yearn for the second season! (show less)

When I first watched this I thought I was going to get action and that's about it. But, I was surprised that this road to redemption was a little more complex than I thought. It is one that would be a great way to kill an afternoon with, but not sure if it has the power to have an additional viewing. The animation is very realistic and very well done. When someone gets cut in half, you see everything the in the two half's come tumbling out. The fights are somewhat realistic. Granted this is anime, but given the realistic style of the animation they tried to make the fights are realistic as possible. Which is always a nice break from the DBZ "going everywhichway" style of fighting. (show less)

Blade of the immortal is not the worst animé i have watched so far. Yes, i've seen worst but it doesn't make this a good series in my opinion. Unlike other series, i never found myself impatient to watch the next episode after watching one and to be frank, i was not impressed by the quality of the graphics or the storyline.

Sure it is interesting to watch a samourai get killed over and over again and coming back to life over and over again but it's not something you will enjoy for a long time. Sure other characters have various skills that surely differ from the main character's but in the end it was never something great that left me in a "wow" state of mind. I tried to get into the characters and their stories but all i felt was pity for the one and empathy for the main character's sister.

This animé did not make a strong impression on me so i would only recommend this if you're convinced you've watched the greatest and are looking for an average series to watch on the plane, train or car so that you don't get bored out of your mind. (show less)
