The first three seasons of Bleach are pretty solid. The Soul Society arc, to date, is my favourite. You get a good introduction to all the characters and the big reveals around the end of the arc are pretty surprising. The storytelling is paced well with a good balance between action and plot. If I was rating Bleach solely on the first 3 arcs, I would have rated it as excellent.

Alas, there is a LOT of filler, and the plot gradually becomes weirdly convoluted and filled with battle after battle. The Hueco Mundo arc is still pretty enjoyable, but the anime really should have ended after the Battle for Karakura arc. There was a conclusion that gave a nice nod to the first episode of the series, and the epilogue showed good potential for a spinoff/sequel where Ichigo could have been a supporting cast member while other characters took center stage.

I haven't enjoyed Bleach since after the Battle for Karakura arc and strongly recommend that people just stop watching after that point. The only worthwhile thing that happens after that is some backstory involving Ichigo's parents. (show less)

Good overall. The first arc is pretty well done. It starts out nicely and keeps the interest for the series. But it doesn't get big until Arrancar Arc. This is the peak of the series. This arc is very good, with lots of interesting characters introduced. The fights are good, the villains at some points are even more interesting the some of the main characters. And the end of this arc is handled very smoothly. Sadly the show (and the manga) goes downhill from here onwards. The end of arrancar arc would've been a brilliant point to end the series but unfortunately the series extends into a ball of badly handled arc with uninteresting and cliched stories. If you want to watch this, only watch until the end of arrancar arc, otherwise your experience will be ruined.

The characters are interesting. Ichigo's the typical stereotypical main hero with the equal amount of rashness and impulsive moments as any other shonen series, but he has his charms too. The other main characters - Orihime, Chad, & Uryu - falls short on the character side. Orihime's probably the weakest of the main characters in the show, with no points of charm and lots of gimcrack moments. Chad is the mysterious character, but boring too. Uryu's the best of the side characters, but he falls in the stereotype of tsunderes with hackneyed development. The Gotei 13 is the high point of the series, with lots of interesting characters with great development. Even the villains are very interesting and will keep the viewers hooked.

As a caveat, I'll say as usually with shonens, Bleach is a victim of overarching and atrociously written fillers. All the fillers are brassy, and irksome, the lowest point of the series. The most vexing thing about the fillers in this is that some of them are shown in the middle of canon as in the case of Arrancar arc, which has lots of fillers scattered in between. So I'd recommend one to skip them all or skim them over, if you want to watch them.

The verdict, it's a good show, with lots of interesting & complex characters and some great storylines, but it becomes a victim of overambitious writer (or mangaka) who loses the focus after sometime (end of arrancar arc) and tries to extend the series with a tastelessly done storylines. 3.5/5 (show less)

I really liked the First 62 episodes of the series and especially the 20 First episodes of the series. The plot is interesting, the battle scenes were epic and there were many innovations in the martial abilities of the heroes.
Another strong point of Bleach, is the perfect design of the characters, the creators have focused on details and this makes the anime even more worth watching. Also i wouldn't forget to mention that the music of the series is pretty cool and it fits well on the anime scenes.

On the other hand, this anime was full of fillers and that's really a very bad point of it, cos you'll get tired of it easily, if you are not a true fan of the series. Another weak point of it ,was the character development and the main characters' personalities.( EXCEPT FOR RUKIA) I found more interesting some less important characters ( for example Kon,Ishin,Zaraki etc) rather than the protagonists( Ichigo, Innoue , Chad and Ishida ), cos they were funnier and their dialogues pleasant and humorous. The main characters, Ichigo , Chad and Ishida, were so serious, even boring i'd say, and Innoue, who takes Rukia's place after episode 62 and becomes the female protagonist of bleach, not interesting at all.

Generally, is a very good anime to watch, if you like Super natural fights and warriors. (show less)

what makes a tv series great is determine by how strong the plot is. if the plot is strong it will be good or if the plot is weak it would be consider bad. bleach had a good plot. this open possibilities to other great arcs like the rescue mission of orihime etc. the animation was great which made the fights superb like ichigo vs byakuya fight, senbonzakura kageyoshi charateristics. also some of the charaters was develop well besides ichigo like kone orihime, chad ishida and others. there were a couple of flaws here and there but not enough to hinder the fact that bleach had a good run although the show was put to a halt.
