It was really hard to rate this anime (if you watch it you'll see why), the story is rated as poor cause, well, there is no story. But dont get me wrong, i'm writing this review to recommend this. It is so funny. No not because the jokes are clever or they slip on bananas, but because it's so RANDOM. Each episode is 10 minutes long, prob because if it was longer, i'd die of hysteria. (you cant have people dying now can we?). Basically about delinquents at a school and their daily lives. (no, this is not a true story, so dont think this is how society really behaves). The way they comment on situations is well... very unique. Definitely recommended if you're feeling down or bored or just want a good laugh. Humour: 11 out of 10. (show less)

"Cromartie High School" walks a thin line of comedy. You either think it's funny or stupid and I found too many jokes to be predictable and obvious.

The story starts off a bit original for a high school anime but after a while it's just an absurd school. The delinquent theme wasn't used as well as it could have been.

The dialogue can be predictable and repetitive but there are funny and even intellectually interesting moments! In my opinion these don't outweigh the bad times though. For example, one of the last episodes taught me that my opinion of people is subconsciously greatly determined by those people's appearance.

The art looks old. You could say it's original or adds to the comedy but to me it just isn't as good as other series.

One of the reasons I gave this score is because it felt as if the 10 minute long episodes were 20min episodes. That must mean that I was a bit bored while watching this.
I can see how some people might really like this show but it didn't have my kind of humour. (show less)

Trust me. Cromartie High School is one of the worst schools to be in but the best anime for gag comedy. Seriously, the purpose of this anime is to make you laugh. Please do not think while watching but enjoy.

The story follows Kamiyama's school life with his bizarre friends. Of course, this is a comedy. They are a bunch of punks and rough looking dudes but I guess, they're pretty dumb and do pretty stupid things to make all of us laugh. Kamiyama who claims to change this school ends up doing stupid things with the rest of the gang.

The English dub is not that bad. Maybe pronouncing the names slightly off but it's not a big deal. I highly recommend this to everyone. (show less)

Funnier than Stephen Chow, lamer than Jacky Wu, 100 times more stupid than any anime I have ever watched!

The main character, Kamiyama, a regular high school student starts school at Cromartie High. Unfortunately, Cromartie has a reputation for having the baddest, nastiest delinquents in Japan. Everyone looks like some Yakuza, punk, gangster.

However, all of them are also so damn stupid, you would wonder if they had a brain?

There are many colourful and outstanding characters that would make u laugh instantly, Freddie Mercury look alike, a Gorilla and a Robot passing off as a student. However, the gist of the humour is in their dialogues and the reactions of these idiots when they come across something.

Kamiyama tries to change the school and his classmates, but he ends up behaving as stupid as them.

I think it also explains how some people behave in public eye. For example, the tough 'boss' of year 1 looks big and strong, but actually he has severe motion sickness. However, he is unable to tell anyone his problem for fear of him looking weak.

Or the transfer student who was transferred to the wrong school (with the wrong uniform), but did not want to admit his mistake, ended up telling numerous exaggerated lies to his stupid classmates (who ended up believing him!)

Im sure many of us encounter similar dilemmas in our lives.

The moral of the story: If you wanna be an 'Ah Beng', you would probably end up brain-dead.

Watch it, it's worth the laugh and you falling of ur seat!
