D Gray man is a wonderfull drawn anime, with good music and a few very interestesting characters. I have enjoyed watching Allen, Lavi and Kanda. However, it is also the first anime I have ever watched where lots of things are happening and yet... I find myself terribly bored. My attention would drift and I would simply walk away from it. After attempting to watch it for the 3rd time, I have actually given up. I am sure that somewhere after the 31st episode, there is some kinda of character development. However, after a few minutes of an episode ( read more)

I can't really explain it. The story within the first 30 episodes lacks something dramatically. And even if there is a sudden change after 30 episodes... after feeling this way through the first 30, I can't seem to bring myself to even try anymore sadly.
However I know many people who adore this series, so this is simply ym personal preference.
But I would suggest that if you don't get into it after 12 episodes, you should move onto something else.
I normally give anime a 3 episode starting chance. With this, I was being generous.
And saly some of the side characters...well most of the side characters were just too irritating to deal with.
My apologises to existing fans. I am sure there is wonderful story in the 2nd half, however if it hasn't grabbed me in 30 episodes, it won't happen. ( show less)

Don't expect more than average. You won't feel ticle in your spine :-). Many filler like eps. From 10-50 is almost all semi fillers. Not very credible story or characters. I'm not through with the anime, maybe at 55.

D. Gray was a great story with depth as well as action within the plot and realistic character reactions. At first I didn't like the story but it gets more intriguing after the a couple of episodes.
After the fillers (not including them) the plot of the story started to drag quite a bit. Character reactions kept repeating over and over (Linalee for example During the Arch) and the action scenes also began dragging alot like Naruto Shippuden Episodes (there might be one that actually went over 4 episodes -_-;). Also there was revival of characters.... ( read more)

Also there was revival of characters.... a corny (expected) no no, if they weren't ment to die just don't 'pretend' to kill them off! Wether this a fualt of the manga-ka or the animeters trying to prolong the series I don't know. But overall
despite my Critisism D.Grayman is an enjoyable anime but had greater potential.
Also at the beggining (not though most of it) its reminiscent of Fullmetal Alchemist in some areas - but that's not the only reason why it was interesting for me. ( show less)

I may say if u like bleach u may like it. After all both are quite similar, if u prefer action anime (fighting and keep figting) and abandon story and logical thinking, u may like this 1

Ugh. "Evil is good" trope making its way into yet another anime. Oh, a nun saying that as long as the demon and the others...
