First let me apologize, I have to politely disagree with the other reviewer, as he or she may or may not have access to the 100's of other titles out there.
But first off:
If you love the show, fine, you can love it or even marry it if you wish, but please, if you are reviewing it, keep your personal bias out of it.

If you love the show, fine, you can love it or even marry it if you wish, but please, if you are reviewing it, keep your personal bias out of it.
story: it didnt get a very poor from me because its somewhat original, except for everything else going on in the story, that does not center around the actual plot
Dialogue: not really crucial or innovative, just a generic j-detective story, with the supernatural thrown in the mix. I cannot count on my hands the plethora of anime in this genre.
animation: poor, it reminds me of a hybrid mix of Aeon flux, akira and tossing in some paranoid agent. nothing really new or even worthy being used as an "example of how anime should be." at best it could be called different, and edgy, but at worst rehashed.
entertainment: I actually watch the anime i recommend to my friends, and only recommend the entertaining ones to them, and sadly this isnt entertaining. the plot has too many twists that would make M. Night blush, the twists come almost predictably, with the standard bad guy / good guy/ anti hero role reversals happening more often than the actual progression of the story. If it takes more than 4 episodes for the main character to get across town, then its not appealing to me and the Anime club I belong too.
this show acts like it wants to be an epic, but like that spunky girl at the prom trying to get a dance, it tries way to damn hard. it wants you to feel things that really are not there to feel, its overused "dark" theme is tragically cranked up. the premise of the show, having the power to take out scum of society, isnt new, and just because you throw in some ancient Japanese legends with a modern retelling, doesnt mean its new exciting or even worth it.
this show gets my two thumbs down, as it was a massive let down from the start. and I would hope the previous reviewer would atleast shy away from the mainstream and what adult swim/the hub/syfy/whatever other channels jam rehashed shows down our throat, and pursue a wider base of anime.
I recommend read or die, silent mobius, patlabor. those would change your perspective, and hopefully broaden your horizons. (
