On November 22, 2010 ten missiles strike Japan. However, this unprecedented terrorist act, later to be called as "Careless Monday," does not result in any apparent victims, and is soon forgotten by almost everyone. Then, 3 months later... Saki Morimi is a young woman currently in the United States of America on her graduation trip. But just when she is in front of the White House, Washington DC, she gets into trouble, and only the unexpected intervention of one of her fellow countrymen saves her. However, this man, who introduces himself as Akira Takizawa, is a complete mystery. He appears to have lost his memory. and he is stark naked, except for the gun he holds in one hand, and the mobile phone he's holding with the other hand. A phone that is charged with 8,200,000,000 yen in digital cash. |

Basically the same as Movie I. Nothing is different about it but it's still as good as ever. The ending however is just like the anime one. It leaves an unfinished feeling in the audience. For me, i felt like a happy-sad or half-happy ending. Despite the let down of the ending, where Takizawa doesn't keep his promise with Saki to return to her (BTW it's in the voiceover at the end where Saki says something like that's the story of her 11 days with Takizawa and that was the last we saw of him) but Takizawa does get to do what he set out to do: hit ( read more)

Summary: Everything is good, however for a fan of Eden of the East, the ending is just toooooo damm disappointing. Despite that, it's still worth rewatching. ( show less)

Eden of the East Movie II Paradise Lost: ... And here’s the end

So after the anime and a first movie, here’s the end to the Eden of the East anime, and surely something not to miss for fans of the series!
Story: Here’s to the anime’s mystery now making sense overall. XD Ends the series with enough closure not to leave you utterly hanging like the anime did. Does not provide an answer to each and every question, seeing as most marginal issues stay hinted at or entirely unresolved; may give the whole thing a feeling of authenticity and realism, may as well be irritating -- as for me, I’m kind of torn ( read more)

Does not provide an answer to each and every question, seeing as most marginal issues stay hinted at or entirely unresolved; may give the whole thing a feeling of authenticity and realism, may as well be irritating -- as for me, I’m kind of torn between those.
That aside, there's no bigger problems plot-wise, count out that the about last third of the movie to me seemed to show less detail than the rest of the series, thus felt a little rushed.
Characters: No changes. I would have loved if the spotlight did shine on the group of computer nerds for once, but I guess that'll stay a dream, or fan-fiction. No new seiyuu and still the same good old style in terms of dialogue.
Animation: Still amazes with clear-cut art style and latest animation quality.
Okay now; IMO this movie would have been more satisfying had it been a little longer, perhaps two hours instead of 1.5, or if they’d generally stretched the anime to about twenty eps and incorporated the movies there. But there’s no changing that, and this movie nonetheless is a nice wrap-up to the Higashi no Eden anime, and well advised to try for those who watched the original anime and never felt that comfortable about the end fallen flat. This movie might not provide the best closure of all times, but at least it wraps the anime’s main points up decently and all in all can probably be considered a fitting end.
To avoid possible confusion, this is the second of two movies pertaining to the series, so be sure to watch them in order. ;)
Cheers.~ ( show less)

Man! i thought that He would meet Saki again in the end! this just lead to an unfinished ending.. The story line is great. its just that the ending didn't meet my expectation. But this is quite inspirational!

I loved this movie, but the 1 thing I didn't like was the ending. I liked that he met again with Mr. Outside, but I wished he would have found Saki again. But, other than that, I loved it so much. Deffinitly one of my favorite animes.

The anime series was great, movie 1 was great... but this movie 2 was below expectations. it didn't wrap up the series and seemed like they rushed the ending to just push it out there. They didnt finish the story!!!!! it was seriously... bleh.
