Summary: |
The endless cycle of hatred and death that befell the small village of Hinamizawa continues. Rika Furude, who is the sole witness of all those tragedies, tries to find a way out of it with her friends' help, without knowing if there is one after all.
The village of Hinamizawa has a population of 2000. Here, the sounds of cicadas can be heard in the late evening. Though at a first glance the village seems normal, however, here is where lies a horrible secret which the villagers try to keep secret from newcomers. The curse of Oyashiro-sama. Unusual murders have been occuring ever since the dam construction plan. Is it a coincidence or part of a plot taken place. |

...For everyone who watched the 1st season of Higurashi!
If the 1st season left this kind of impression to you
-1. You don't know whats going on in it!
-2. You think it's a bit boring because it is confusing
-3. You don't wish to watch another season
I had this kind of impression when I was watching the 1st season but I decide to watch it. Anyway the second season will explain to you the mystery...
- How they're alive? They were dead?
And of course the mystery of Oyashiro's curse!
- Who is behind it!
You've never guessed ( read more)

That is the overview of this anime. I finished this anime in 4 days, and I really REALLY should have stretched it out more! This series is SOOOO underrated! I mean, only 5 other reviews!? This anime NEEDS to be seen by more people.
This series answers the questions that came up from the first season. This season is much better than the first, and has more action and conflict, although it has less sadness. You COULD watch this season without watching the first. You wouldn't miss out on too much, but this story is at least 1.5x better and makes ( read more)

This anime falls into the category like Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica(which I recommend as well), where there are many different worlds due to the fact that someone keeps time traveling to prevent a fatal outcome. If you want suspense, as well as action, random very tiny bits of ecchi, violence, and even semi-deep friendships, then this is the perfect series for you. ( show less)

Overall, I liked it. It provided answers to many questions of the first season. There was more action in this series well. I like how the story focused mainly on Rika. (She's my second favorite character). The ending was not as spectacular as I was hoping though... Not a bad anime, but you can definately find one that's a lot better :P

In this season of Higurashi no Naku Koro ni the series loses its mysteries side but that's both a good and bad thing. I didn't experience the horror I felt in the first season but it was replaced by suspense.
All events I've seen so far were explained. It's fun to put the pieces together one by one untill you completely understand everything that has happened in Hinamizawa.
The enemy becomes visible and the main characters face them head on to change their destiny.
The animation is still as childish as it was in the first season but if you've ( read more)

I never watched many episodes one after another. The story wasn't the best I've seen but I'm glad I now know all the secrets. ( show less)

The answers to all mysteries in season one is in here. So, don`t watch it unless you watch the first one because you won`t be able to understand anything with only this.
Of course, this is one of a HELL BEST ANIME!! I like the atmosphere very much that I almost thought I was inside the story and may get screwed up LOL
A REALLY MUST WATCH ANIME!!!!

This season, compared to the first season is much better. Rather than having short chapters that confuse you, Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Kai has about 2-3 chapters that are longer. They also hold all the unanswered questions from season 1. It is also much more engaging, as each episode has a mystery, and the new resolve and the 'hopes' that the anime gives you makes it very interesting. Instead of having the same story line everytime, like in season 1, this time, the worlds have very unusual things, so you won't get bored, as there are unexpected ( read more)

The villians are revealed and oyashiro-sama's curse just might not be a curse at all...Many of the characters' pasts are revealed, and as to why they turned out to be the way they are. The most innocent of characters in here, are also founded to be the main villains. Overall, this season is engaging, interesting and very unique, compared to season 1, I would recommend anybody who has seen season 1 to see this. But if you haven't seen season 1, then you won't understand it... ( show less)
