Macross Frontier marks the 25th anniversary of the Macross anime franchise. It is a direct sequel to the first Macross series and Macross 7 and follows the lives of Alto Saotome, Ranka Lee and a pop idol named Sheryl Nome on board the Macross Frontier colonization fleet. After the war against the Zentradi aliens, Humankind has spread across the universe in order to ensure its survival. The Macross Frontier fleet is part of a effort to spread and maintain the culture of humanity. |

I'am very bored and this anime save me.
The story is good,and you can understand it, even you didn't watch
the previous episodes.
This anime also have a good songs theme
that touch my feeling.

I found this anime to be quite good. One thing I definitely liked about this anime was not only the story(which was fantastic)but also characters, who I greatly enjoyed watching as the series progressed. While I wasn't exactly crazy about the singing, I did like it for the originality, considering that not many animes incorporate that sort of thing into the story. The mech fighting was pretty good and added to the action, and the music itself(both that sung by the characters and the background music)was very nice. One of the few things I dislike ( read more)
I found this anime to be quite good. One of the few things I dislike about the show though, was the 'two girls and one guy' sort of thing, but I have to admit that it really did make things more interesting and added a nice touch of drama/romance, balancing out all the action. Overall I found this to be a great show, worth watching up until the very end. ( show less)

The story were really well written even though we all know that they want to find a planet to colonized but got attacked by aliens. In the the end it all wrapped into a nice story. The love triangle, something that happens in all Macross series, are really nice and great. Except that they didn't tell who Alto choose between Ranka or Sheryle. In the first one macross Hikaru choose his flight girl, Macross seven the pink hair girl choose Bazira, Macross plus the pilot choose the older sister. Musics are really good and go with the situations. Animations were superb and conflicts are great.

What's it been? 10+ years since macross was first released, I remember watching it as a kid, then as a young adult, and now in my mid 20's this series pays great respect to the macross name and robotech in general.
Art is fantastic they spared no effort, a few reused sections, But not alot as most anime attempt to save time/money and reuse scenes.
Music was top notch as always for this series, I have no complaints, lively, and very beautiful.
Story is awesome, they really increased the depth of this classic ten fold. If your a fan of Robotech ( read more)

When I watched the first episode I thought It was funny. But then I fell in love with the music and Ranka's voice, the beauty of Alto and Sheryl's personality. The whole series is very amusing and animated/drawn in a really original way.
I was shivering because I couldn't wait for the next episode.
There is also a scene when you'll cry for sure.
Macross Frontier is mix of great music(I was crazy about it and listened it every single day xD), animation and well thought-out plot.
Do not sit and wait. Just watch it! :D

This is marvelous mecha anime ! Has really good music combined with mecha battles this is what it makes a unique ! Story is quite confusing from time to time but still very interesting ! Loved the music especialy Nakajima Megumi`s part ( one of the main chars Ranka voice ) ! Really liked the romance part , wich was developed in many directions with several chars (lol honestly cired at one moment)! If you are mecha or air batlle fan and if you like Japanese music this a MUST WATCH anime for you !
