Taking place one year before the Zentraedi arrive on Earth, Macross Zero chronicles the final days of the war between the U.N. Spacy and anti-U.N. factions. After being shot down by the anti-U.N.'s newest fighter plane, ace pilot Shin Kudo finds himself on the remote island of Mayan, where technology is almost non-existent. While Shin stays on the island to heal his wounds, the tranqulity of the island is shattered by a battle that involves the UN's newest fighter - the VF-0. |

If you are familiar with macross series, then you will already know what to expect.
1. Awesome aerial dogfights
2. A love story of some sort
3. ALOT OF SINGING
Macross Zero tones down the emphasis on the usual Pop Idol love affair in favor of something a bit more fantasy based (i.e. the magical songtress), but it doesn't subtract much the whole package. The dogfights in this series are a step above most mecha anime, and the animation inbetween fight scenes is very good. Most of the characters are likeable but, they dont have something that ( read more)

Most of the characters are likeable but, they dont have something that you can latch onto and miss them when they leave the stage.
I had some problems with the story, but I know I'm gonna watch this series again in the near future. ( show less)
