Honestly, what got me into it and kept me watching was the animation. I loved the softness of the colors and the lines and the overall harmony of it all. But when it comes to the plot, honestly, it was a bit disappointing. You start off thinking there's a great story about to unfold, but it doesn't really go anywhere and has a really weird development that is not altogether coherent, full of sidetracks and such (but that's just my opinion). The characters are also kind of bland and unattractive (not in appearance), especially the main character who is most of the time indifferent and brain-dead. Seriously, you feel he needed a good beating from time to time. And the guy with the white hair (can't remember his name) is a jerk.

I have to admit that what really made me watch until the end was the desire to know what happens to Yoite and Miharu. Weirdly enough, it's a touching story. I say weirdly because neither of the characters is particularly likeable. But by the last few episodes I was just hoping for someone to die and prayng for the series to end. (show less)

I only recemtly finished watching this show, but I really enjoyed it. I haven't read the manga, so I can't compare the two. But if the life of ninjas interests you, then this is a very nice show with a very good, very touching and very sad storyline.
One of the best things about this show is the artwork. To me, it is stunning. Really gorgeous animation to some very beautiful watercolour backgrounds. The fight scenes are amazing and the music is beautiful.
All in all, a very very enjoyable, sometimes breathtaking and very touching story.
More people should give it a chance.

This anime is a pleasure to watch - it's hard to pull off ninjas in contemporary day after all and this is something that is done well here. The action is good, the story is decent (the whole idea of the boy/girl who has extreme hidden powers that is protected by the good and desired by the evil is always appealing after all), and the characters are pretty well fleshed out. What made this anime fall a little short of great for me was that the story wasn't really developed far or well enough, and that Rokujou, except for his powers, is mostly useless. This anime is mostly about the beginning of everything and needs a sequel or special or a couple of ovas to do the story justice. But if you're looking for ninjas, action, friendship, mysterious power, and drama, then you won't be disappointed by this anime! (show less)
