After the first season, I thought it couldnĀ“t get better and I was right. Despite of good Animation, nice Dialogues and unpredictable storyline. Is the second season too much Fanservice and the real/old story was abandoned in favour for the new almost echi season. I hope they get back to the roots in Monogatari.
Ps: This season is worth watching, despite its lacking.

Having watched and absolutely Loved Bakemon I was really anxious to watch Nisemonogatari. Did I have any thoughts about what would be in it? No. I had none because the ending of Bakemonogatari I wont say was perfect but it cut it pretty close everything simply ended and as such you can not really compare the two much Nisemonogatari still has its predecessors unique way of story tell fun lines and the somewhat bizarre animation with is as awesome if not more. There is really a lot I would like to say but it would be a long essay because the series ( read more)

There is really a lot I would like to say but it would be a long essay because the series has so much content that you can just be be drawn into and later on ponder on without releasing it some things you may have noticed yourself even so I wont. Nisemonogatari in my opinion is not a complete equal to Bakemonogatari it is its own and quite honestly I found it very refreshing to watch in a way so many anime drag out one theme and plot through 3-5 even more season this anime is nothing like that and i hope you will watch even the first episode truly see for yourself just how unique it is. With this said I saw one thing. WATCH IT you wont be disappointed one bit ( show less)

This anime is really good, i watched bakemonogatari like 2 years ago and i was awed by it and i was very excited to watch the sequel and i wasn't disappointed. like bakemonogatari the main feature in this anime is the dialogue, most of the time half the episode would be spent in dialogue between two characters but dont misunderstand, the dialogue alone is great and if u focus on it u will find it quite hilarious and serious at the same time. storywise im glad they're following the light novels (i think they are but i havent read all of them) and ( read more)

I stumbled upon Bakemonogatari and loved every minute of it. I was thrilled to find a second season in the works. And while I enjoyed it overall, I still feel it fell short of the first season.
The Good:
The animation is still amazing. This series, like the first season, has its own unique style and once you get used to it you can just drink it in. Its creative in a way I rarely see modern anime. The series also continues to be character driven at its core. The development of relationships in this series, particularly between Koyomi and Shinobu, ( read more)

The series also continues to be character driven at its core. The development of relationships in this series, particularly between Koyomi and Shinobu, really make it shine. The series more about how characters react to supernatural problems instead of the supernatural problems themselves.
The Bad:
Not really a fault but worth noting: you really need to see the first season for this show. Jumping in here is good way to leave scratching your head with no idea whats going on. This series also seems to drag its feet. There are several episodes that don't move the plot forward and seem as if they are just padding. Also many of the characters that I loved from the first season are barely in this one at all. I can't really fault the series for trying to broaden itself but I feel let down that many of the characters that brought me back are only in the background. Finally this series also seems to go with the Fan Service angle way more then the first series. Don't get me wrong, I like fan service, but I think it got way more emphasis then season 1. It also tends to favor younger girls, something I'm not really comfortable with. Again just personal taste.
The Verdict:
Overall I think this series is very well done and supremely entertaining if a bit drawn out and pervy at times. Watch it if you would like a unique supernatural series, but only after watching the first season.

I was a bit skeptical about the second season of the Monogatari series but I have been proven wrong as it made its way into my top favourite.
For those who have never seen Bakemonogatari than the anime is likely to make less sense to you so I recommend watching Bake first before watching Nise.
For those who have seen Bakemonogatari celebrate for the second season is far better than the first in my opinion.
Unlikely the first season Nise has less of the random scenes of colour and unexplained scenery. This moves more smoothly like most anime however ( read more)

Unlikely the first season Nise has less of the random scenes of colour and unexplained scenery. This moves more smoothly like most anime however at the same time still retaining these random colour scenes.
The voices are all the same (thank god Hiroshi Kamiya is still there XD) so no need to fret about new voices in familiar characters (just one new voice in a familiar character. I'll let you find out who it is). However there are new characters and even a new bad guy. The comedy is just as funny and the events just as suspenseful.
So to sum it up for those who watched and loved Bakemonogatari then you'll love Nisemonogatari just as much possibly even more. For any newcomers I recommend you watch the first season before this one however if you decide against doing so it should still make sense (just less than if you watched the first season). It is an anime of the supernatural with action and comedy so anyone interested in that sort of genre then this is for you. ( show less)
