It is a whole new story although it has some concepts of the original Avatar presented here like the mystery of taking away one's bending power. The first two episodes were good and left you with the desire of watching more. However, they are fusing it with American cartoon culture as episodes pass by. For example, the old narrating style of Superman was added at the beginning of the episodes. It is a terrible dramatic narrating style; they even used the word “mad” (as for mad scientist) to talk about who appears to be the bad character. There is still some minor Chinese art, but it has almost vanished into an American city centered cartoon. The result of mixing East Asian art and mythology with American cartoon culture is horrible. As of now I don’t feel like watching anymore of it, but I’ll hit a couple of more episodes to be fully convinced of its decreasing quality.
So there it goes my conclusion. The Story, Dialog, Animation, and Entertainment values are approaching less as the number of episodes increase.
