I am an adult viewer of anime and have loved tne production style of most vids ever since I first started seeing them (Astroboy, Gatchaman, Transformers, Voltron, Ronin Warriors) & one of my favorite first times I was exposed to it was on the air, it was the original thundercats
Most people know the original series or have heard of it if you are over 20 you may have seen it on TV or elsewhere if you didn't catch it when it originally aired. The story of thundercats was a decent one and I will compare the old show to the new one just to show the ( read more)

Most people know the original series or have heard of it if you are over 20 you may have seen it on TV or elsewhere if you didn't catch it when it originally aired. The story of thundercats was a decent one and I will compare the old show to the new one just to show the new direction and the many improvements can be noticed by compairing them to the show.
I will also rate the show on its own because given attention on its own merits, this series does quite a decent job telling the tale of the Thundercats Empire on Thundara, LION-O his abrupt rise to lord of the thundercats with his band of fellow cats surviving the terrible and sudden destruction of thier once great empire.
The original story is re-written. Almost entirely for the better, with key elements of character and story kept for familiarity but reworked to carve the thundercats plight into a much bolder, complex and rich storyline. THis is by no means just a retelling of the original story with better visuals. These cats keep their names and the former "mutants" are now other animal tribes and all recognized elements are used to spark energy into the series as you see the true world of thundara unfold with a much deeper history, color to the characters and great scenery and special effects. Though the animation is good it is not on par with some of the more cutting edge animation in modern anime.
The story is worked to the point that it has a much deeper meaning and therefore builds more connection to the audience as to the plight of the once mighty thundarian empire reduced to a rag tag pride near extinction, LOL.
All of the explainations and reasoning behind the strory development drive it in a pace that is more thought out and detailed. THis thundara is a land of magic and tecnology and the story begins for a much longer portion of time on thundara than third earth and Lion-O is juvenile cat but not a goofy version of a boy who sprouted into a grown man in cryo sleep and learned most battle skills from his father and his brother Tigra! He learned Other skills from the elder cleric Jaga and female cleric Cheetarah.
THis version combines action, comedy, tech and battlemechs with ancient magic and some coo battle visuals. I reccomend giving it a view. ( show less)

I have been a fan for the old one and because of that I wouldn't expect much, but I have been mistaken. It worth your time even if the story have some changes. Black point is that the Snarfs haven't voice! :P -it sounds like a pokemon-
