I decided to pick up this fishing anime in 2013 because I was running low on anime...
How thankful I was!

Tsurimata not only starts off as an intriguing fishing themed series, it develops into a unique one.

The colours in this anime series is beautiful; the art itself grows wonderfully into your liking.
Tsuritama may start off at first as being quirky and weird, however the story develops beautifully over the duration of the 12 episodes. Tsuritama is also great for its character development. We get to see the characters open up to each other, befriend each other, express to one another -- the friendship bond that grew within this anime series is what makes this anime a beautiful and unique fishing series. This is one of the greatest highlight of the entire anime series!

Tsuritama is also a highly entertaining anime series to watch. Don't mind that it's about fishing; I personally find watching real life fishing programs boring (haha). However, Tsuritama not only covers friendship, bonds and fishing, it also comes pack with its own adventure.

If you like to delve yourself into a good anime series with an interesting story and good character development, I would highly recommend Tsuritama for you! (show less)

Not only a lot of fun, but also touching. The story is short, but everything is nicely planned, you don't get the feeling that something is missing at the end. Of course, you want more and I really hope I'll see at least OVA if not the next serie :)
Animation is great, music too; the opening is the best ever! Characters are a masterpiece both in drawing and in their personalities. And it's a mystery for me how they were able to make rather boring fishing into fantastin activity with so much emotion and safing the world from destruction xD

When I stopped by this anime, my first thoughts were:"fishing, is something that old people do". The same said the main character in the 1st episode. And now I finished watching it and can say without a doubt, that I loved it! The characters are really hilarious, and each in their own way. The animation is really colorful and I just loved the Background music, it's really soft and pleasant to the ear. I thought that the moments when Haru was experiencing human feelings and trying to understand them were really sweet. And hey, I also learned a few things about wishing! Haha. Don't think that this anime is just about some boys that go fishing in every episode, it's actually much deeper than that. They end up saving the world! Haha, I would say, the story is more about friendship. It's a really sweet, funny, and nice story. I really can't think of anything bad to tell you. Please give it a try if you still doubt that it's any good. It really is worth a try. (show less)

I've been waiting for this particular anime for months, and finally it appears and not at all a disappointment. The graphic and genre are somewhat modern, unique and nice, with an easygoing plot that currently revolves around a teenage boy named Yuki, who has some serious self-esteem and self-conscious issues especially when given a task to speak in front of a crowd of people. Yuki later finds himself fishing with some unlikely new friends (his classmates) who befriended him at the new ocean town he's just moved in together with his outgoing grandmother. I am looking forward for the next episode~ (show less)
