Summary: |
Michiru Kita is a special girl who possesses Shinigami Eyes, which allows her to see a dark ring around a person's neck. This ring symbolizes the person's impending death; once they are marked to die, a gray line, which is invisible to normal people, appears on their neck, and once the ring turns completely black, the person dies. Chika Akatsuki and Shito Tachibana, two boys in her class, both have black rings around their necks, but to her surprise, they are not yet dead. It is revealed that after a tragic accident that was supposed to kill them both, the two boys made a deal with a secret loan office called the Zombie-Loan. In return for keeping them alive, the two have to hunt zombies for the loan office. When Michiru gets involved with them, she finds that her life has just become more complicated. |

Watched this out of boredom when all the other series are coming to an end...despite the horrible music, this anime is funny, and cute! The actions are also quite good...as well as the idea of zombies with agreements and shinigami eyes...i was merelylooking for something funny and adventurous, guess i found it!

I'll admit, I downloaded this at first solely for the zombie title. As it turns out, this was pretty good.
I've been watching anime long enough that the same, tired stereotypes are getting bothersome. While the first episode was decent, I was worried it would end up being painfully overly full of the typical types. Shy, glasses-toting girl who can't stand up for herself, pretty boy, and the energetic loud mouth who all reluctantly team up. The concept at first seems typical, but it is anything but. The "heroes" coldly discuss killing the heroine ( read more)

I've been watching anime long enough that the same, tired stereotypes are getting bothersome. Shy, glasses-toting girl who can't stand up for herself, pretty boy, and the energetic loud mouth who all reluctantly team up. The concept at first seems typical, but it is anything but. The "heroes" coldly discuss killing the heroine who has stumbled upon their secret. While it treads on commonly used themes, the characters or dialogue will make you forget that. That, or the fan service. Oooh, the fan service. It wouldn't turn off viewers who dislike such things, as its usually brief (open shirted boy here, yuri there) and doesn't hold up the story or seem out of place. There are two scenes which might not be the best to show to younger viewers.
While it isn't as violent as I would have liked it to be, the plot unfolded nicely in each episode and there were, to me, a lot of humorous moments. The characters grow with each episode, although with Shito and Chika, sometimes it's more like a step forward and a few steps back. At the end of the original eleven episodes, the series does seem to abruptly drop off, but with or without the dvd-released final two episodes it isn't a deal breaker and leaves you mostly satisfied. Follow up with the manga if needs be. (Also, the opening theme is pretty great, if you're a fan of rock.)
All in all, this series is well worth the time taken to download and watch it. If you like zombies, humor, and interesting characters, you'll like this anime. Stick with it, and you won't be disappointed. ( show less)

Usually Peach Pit is known for it's more shoujo based anime such as Shugo Chara, but this is far different.
Instead of the usual "x-eggs" scenario, the main heroine isn't the ones doing the action, and although they may be bishies in terms of looks, there are no moments in this show whereby they fall head over heels for one another, true they show sympathy or perhaps even concern at times but this one is a slightly darker tale and with unique characters like Shito and Ferryman and even the Grim Reaper himself, this short but interesting anime ( read more)

It's a darker tale as compared to Shugo Chara though if you've read or watched Rozen maiden also by peach pit, then this would be something to your liking ( show less)

When I first saw this I was surprised it was by Peach-pit because I've watched some of the animes by Peach-pit which are kinda girly ( but I watch it anyway), Zombie-loans animation looked very different and not girly. I was reading a manga and then I saw zombie-loan on the advertisement page and so I started watching it, i usually dont watch Horror anime so I thought I would quit watching on the first ep and to my surprise i couldn't stop watching so i highly recommend people who want to try watching horror anime or like horror to watch this.

I found this anime thoroughly enjoyable, and am a bit surprised I hadn't heard of it before. It's not very often you see such a good anime that centers around zombies. The story itself is entertaining, and pretty original when you think about it. Overall, I'm glad to have found it, but I really wish there were more episodes :)

Zombie-loan is, as the title suggests, about Zombies and Money (which to be honest are the reasons my world goes round) so I LOVE IT!! The animation is fairly unique and the fight scenes are way different from other anime's, but the humor in Zombie-loan is Comedic BRILLIANCE, the jokes just make the show shine. From child friendly themes to explicit scenes Zombie loan is an anime of variety and quality. The Zombies themselves vary from average and speechless to emotion driven and able to control ECTOPLASM! This show consists of so many epic moments ( read more)

There is just so much going on! and I want to know! When it comes to characters they are unique and spontaneas but my absolute favourite is Yomi-chan, she is the source of half of the show's jokes and they are Legendary! As an overall pitch, Zombie-loan leaks awesome-ness and it would be a shame to not watch it at least once! And I refuse to believe this is the end!! Somebody lied to me!! ( show less)

Of course by now if you have read an anime you know half of them end with so many questions unanswered. This is another one that leaves almost everything out there. Now of course there is a manga if you want to continue and from what I hear manga is better than the anime.
Now is the anime good? Dialogue between main characters provides plenty of laughs and plenty of good moments. Characters themselves aren't very unique in the sense they seem like characters from other animes, but the mixture of them and they provide a good atmosphere. Animation ( read more)

Animation even with moments where it looks absolutely plain and artwork that was done by a middle schooler, it all fits with the anime. The moments with lower quality are joked filler segments.
Overall anime is nice to watch just remember that if you watch the ending is going to leave so much left open. If you don't want that then I would say don't bother. Good anime but doesn't provide anything great to make me say it is a must watch. ( show less)
