The digital animation is good. There are other good bits. But there are too many failures to give it a good rating. Too many situations where characters do things that don't make sense for that character.
The fight scenes are very well done. But if that's all that interests you, the stuff between the fight scenes will bore you - if not actively annoy you.
The bits of the story which rise to Excellent are dragged down by the many poor bits. Thus average overall, at best.

Its a decent anime and worth the watch, the episodes are dragged on too long so you have to watch several in a row to understand that there is a story. The hand drawn animation it very nicely done but the CG is terrible.... It just doesnt work, it sticks out like a sore thumb and is difficult to enjoy. They should have just enhanced certian elements instead of making only the monsters CG, its like a 3D object slapped in a 2D world T_T . Akira is really old now and the use of CG in that film was great!! why couldn't the creators of this anime used ( read more)
