In the year 2015, the Angels, huge, tremendously powerful, alien war machines, appear in Tokyo for the second time. The only hope for Mankind`s survival lies in the Evangelion, a humanoid fighting machine developed by NERV, a special United Nations agency. Capable of withstanding anything the Angels can dish out, the Evangelion`s one drawback lies in the limited number of people able to pilot them. Only a handful of teenagers, all born fourteen years ago, nine months after the Angels first appeared, are able to interface with the Evangelion. One such teenager is Shinji Ikari, whose father heads the NERV team that developed and maintains the Evangelion. Thrust into a maelstrom of battle and events that he does not understand, Shinji is forced to plumb the depths of his own inner resources for the courage and strength to not only fight, but to survive, or risk losing everything. |

Story (2/5) : The story is badly constructed. The point of the anime is to focus on the character rather than the story, but the characters are so stupid and annoying. Some people say the characters are "real", I think not. Shinji is the most boring character I've never encountered, the philosophical and psychological approach is an epic fail. Then you have the silent mysterious girl (good thing she's silent, otherwise she would say crap like the other characters), then the obvious tsundere retarted beautiful European girl. They wasted so much time on their average life crap that they didn't have time to focus on the story. And guess what ? They've put so much information in one episode that I didn't even paid attention to 50% of it because things went to fast.
Dialogue (1/5) : No, just, no. It was piercing my ears.
Animation (4/5) : For a 1995 anime it was very great animated. Too bad the content of the anime was crap.
Entertainment (1/5) : This show is made for people who watch "mentally mature" anime instead of watching shows for pure entertainment. If you're looking for a story/plot driven/good thriller/action driven do not watch this. If you're looking for good character development that are integrated in the plot/story/action and that doesn't bore you to death, do not watch this. If you want a slice of life with blend/cliché characters with an potentially epic story that is treated mostly as a filler, than watch this.
